Wallace and Gromit in the Right Trousers

This September Harvey Nichols opened a new store in Bristol. As part of their opening campaigns they like to integrate something that its representative of each specific city. And, in Bristol, who-else is more recognizable than our good old Wallace and Gromit? And, of course, the very glamorous Lady T.
Now even Wallace and (a reluctant) Gromit wear designer suits and accessories.

I was involved in the making of this campaign produced by John Woolley. Directed by Nick Park: the very talented Debbie Smith and Graham Maiden did their magic in the model-making department and Loyd Price and I did our sculpting and posing to camera on the studio floor (with the lovely, lovely team: DDB London, Harvey Nichols and the photographers).  It was a very intensive yet amazing job and it is very rewarding to see these images all over Bristol!

Cinanima 2008

Today I am off to Cinanima, the International Animated Film Festival. It will be held from the 10th to the 16th of November in Espinho (in the north of Portugal). It is still one of my favourite animation festivals from around the globe. One can always see the new films that are out in the national and international competitions as well as interacting, networking and brainstorming with other fellow filmmakers. There is a special cosy atmosphere about this festival, also aided by the charming seaside town that is Espinho. Not to mention the amazing gastronomy - and the unmissable francesinha. This year will be even more special for my MA Film - Wherever You Go There You Are has been nominated for the Young Portuguese Director Prize and the António Gaio Prize (Best Film by a Portuguese Director) alongside some very talented directors. I am flattered and really chuffed, and will have a blast of a week!

CGI Training

This is my second attempt at CGI. I am doing training at the CGI/Commercials department at Aardman Animations and being supervised and mentored by the amazingly talented Alan Short and John Ogden. The puppet was modelled and rigged by the very skilled Victor Vinyals.
